“Graduate: Going to the assessment day”

soooo, i'm a 4th year graduating in June this year and have had a similar experience to many who have written reviews on this and other review websites. I received a call from a girl at Pareto who was very enthusiastic and friendly, however I was left slightly confused about what was actually happening!! I had my telephone interview a few days after and was told I had been successful. I was over the moon because I had been given such flattering feedback(apparently I was only the second out of seventy to be put through that day) and was asked to go to an assessment day.

However...

After reading so many mixed reviews I now realise that this has potential to turn out to be a massive disappointment. For every good review there are 2+ bad ones. On top of that, the good ones have bad comments left below them!!!

After consideration I have decided to attend the assessment day for several reasons:

1. I have already bought my train tickets and successful or not it will be worthwhile experiencing an assessment day, even if it is as pointless as many claim.


2. I do actually want a career in sales and this will be a good eye opener.

3. I refuse to be put off by what appears to be bitter unsuccessful applicants or those who just didn't like the experience. However, each to their own and if i'm sharing my opinion, who am I to complain of someone else doing the same.

Lastly, I would like to point out that those who are commenting that the positive reviews are fake ones from Pareto employees are being extremely unhelpful to those of us who are trying to evaluate the company.

For anyone interested and in a similar situation to myself, I will re-post and share my experience of my assessment day.
