“Avis in Braintree, Essex / Cambridge. Awful.”

Booked Avis car hire through work so no choice there. Booked for 7am Monday and it arrived 11am Saturday - they reversed it up onto the front of my house - it's a hard standing next to my driveway without a dropped kerb and shouldn't have been driven up! they cracked the new cement and drove into my flowerbed.

We went out to ask who they were and what they were doing and to move the car off our driveway and they informed us it was the hire car, and although it's delivered early we won't be insured to drive it until 7am monday. We got the guys to park the car across the road - he parked on the pavement! so we told him he had to park on the road (duh!).

Okay so it irritated the neighbours (and us) for a bit.... monday came and we used the car for 2 days... they should have been back to collect the car monday evening. 7pm as booked. But nope... not collected it. Wednesday afternoon whilst I was working and on a conference call I got a missed call saying they were at my house could see the car and wanted it back.

Really it's awful service. I have checked their opening times and they are 8am-6pm. SO they should have advised an alternative collection time as the car was booked til 7pm. And actually they could have had it back at 6pm if they'd bothered to tell us!

Really hope work can use enterprise next time.
