When I first walked into the room I thought; simple but homely and comfortable. I got bored as there was nothing to watch on tv and some channels didn't work, also the channels are in a random order and there weren't many of them. I came here for leisure so this is probably why I had a slightly higher expectation of the tv than the average person. I couldn't even play a dvd or plug my own things into it such as wdtv or hardrive.
I got peckish at around midnight and the shops were all closed and the vending machine in the Traveloge was out of order so that was disappointing. Although it is nice that the Travelodge is so close to the train station, bus stops, and lots of local take aways, restaurants, pubs, clubs, shops, river, etc. I went for a lovely midnight walk by the river :)
Sometimes a random light would go off when I was just sitting in the room, a bit spooky, but I found if I took the card out of the card reader and then put it back in then a different light would start or stop working each time, it was pretty random to be honest. On the plus side I did like the lights that were in the room, especially the orange one behind the huge comfy bed.
The room looked untouched, everything looked unused as if I was the first person to stay in the room. Very clean and neat. I am disappointment I could not stay for the food as I found a menu in the room and the food looked amazing!
Having a shower was a bit of a palava as water leaked all over the floor and the soap wasn't very good, I forgot my shampoo and shower gel so had to go to the local shop and buy some more.
I have a very sweet tooth so the amount of sugar I got given wasn't enough for me but I'm sure if I was confident enough to ask at reception, they would've given me some more. Nonetheless I did have some nice cups of tea and a lovely sleep in Travelodge.
A frige and a pregnancy pillow would've been nice!
