The Proofreading & Editing Courses Consists Of An

The Proofreading & Editing courses consists of an out-of-date binder with information such as:

- how to use a typewriter to word process documents!!!

- how to store information on floppy disks!!!

- the benefits of setting up an email account!

I attempted to return the course but could not get in touch with anyone, so I sent off my first assignment to be marked. Needless to say, I received no response.

The course ended up in the bin as it was a total waste of money.

This company should be reported and shut down.

It Is A Scam!!!

I was looking for a course in proofreading and came across 'maple academy'. Saw that the price was relatively cheap and thought this was too good to be true... how right I was!!!

They give you a test at the end of every chapter which you have to complete and then send back to their office for it to be marked. I decided before sending off the final assignment to give me my "qualification" (which they asked for an extra payment of around £30! cheeky or what!), to send off the others first to make sure. After a few days I received the same letters back with a message on the front saying that the place and/or company DID NOT EXIST!

I was absolutely fuming! I tried getting in contact with them, emails were bounced back, as no such thing exists!! So there was no way of getting my money back.

Scum like this deserve to be locked up in jail and the keys thrown away. It makes me sick. So be warned. This joke of a website is FAKE.

They may have comments from "previous" customers on their website, but that's a bunch of cr*p too. Notice how there isn't any place for real people to leave their comments on that website.

UTTER SCUMBAGS!!!

I also received all my assignments marked and was very happy for the money i spent. Obviously there are more extensive quals that cost a lot more but this one was a good start.

That's strange. I received my first exercise back yesterday - marked. I was very happy with the comments. Have you tried phoning? I spoke to someone last week. I agree there is a problem with their mailbox, though.

Total Scam

I signed up for the Massage course, what I received was a ring binder with photocopied pages, that were dated 2000, 11 years out of date, fair enough I thought, I will give it a go, half way through the first few pages I realised that I had spent £65 on a course that I could easily learn from a book costing no more than £10 from a well know book store, so I contacted asking to return... this is where the problems start, no response... i try again.. and again, then the emails start to bounce back, so I call, and I am greeting by a very defensive man who talks over you and just tells me there are server problems, email again on monday.. I have never received a response, and they now have put up a Hotmail address to contact them.. hmmm I have wasted £65

avoid at all costs, much better course providers that are actually accredited unlike Maple Academy

I Did This Course Back In 2002 Or So But Didn't He

I did this course back in 2002 or so but didn't help me personally to get employment and thus have never had any use for it.

Enjoyable course though and learnt something from it.Tutor was assigned to me in case I needed support which was good.

Can't really recommend it myself as it it didn't help me personally but would love to hear from others.

Feel that proof-reading is a very competetive industry in which to gain employment...
