Sumvision SV5101 5.1 900W PMPO 5.1 Subwoofer

Has a Serious Design flaw. There is NO smoothing (Opened up the Woofer Box to check) on the power input to the control unit, Resulting in a very noisy background hum that can be herd more than 3 metres away and that's without any sound input. I would recommend a AC To DC Regulated 8.5 Volt 1.8 Amp Transformer which is smoothed (Note: Transformer centre pin needs to be positive). Note can be used with a lower voltages down to 4.5 Volts. If you use a NEW transformer then there is no need to plug in the power lead coming out from the woofer box. Note the In Built Transformer in the woofer introduces Hum as well so do not use it!.

Now for the sound review after fixing the design flaw. I would rate the sound now as average, the woofer seems to be a very basic Base Speaker. I nearly gave a rating of 0, but gave a 1 as the design flaw can be corrected.

The Speakers were cheap as you would expect with this review and cost £22.

Note: The Design Flaw has not 100% been Thoroughly tested as I can only review from the set of speakers that I have purchased. This might not always be the case.
