“Review of Fender's Squier P Bass”

Written on: 29/12/2011 by MrFezReviewer (1 review written)

My first bass was a Fender Squier P Bass. For a cost around £200 it is of reasonable quality. This is the Bass I'd recommend for any young bassist looking for his/her first bass.

It has a simple design, with different colours such as dark red, blue or black. It has one pickup which does limit the bass to a small tonal range.

The pickups slowly get worse, after 2 years of playing this bass I had to always had to have the volume on full all the time.

A nice, fairly large neck doesn't make it hard to start, and gives you experience with a bass that doesn't make it easy, however, was hard to start with.

The tuning pegs are all on the same side, which gives string tension that fenders are famous for, but doesn't affect it too much.

Overall, a good bass but not a great one, if you want to start the bass, choose this one but you will have to upgrade fairly quickly. It has no bad features, however it was never set up to be a great bass.

Hope I helped
