“DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!1”

The rental of the car from Ace and MEX rental was the worst experience we have ever had. We scheduled with VIP rental because of the great reviews and pricing. We were excited to have a car for the 3 weeks we were going to be in Cabo San Lucas but on arrival to the pick up location we were extorted by the rental agent telling us if we did not buy their insurance we were not getting a car!!!! We explained we bought the insurance from VIP and they still would not rent the car to us unless we bought their insurance. In fact they ripped up our rental agreement in front of us and told us they would give us a ride back to the airport to figure out a cab ride to Cabo. We needed a car because we had plans to travel throughout Mexico so we asked how much the insurance was. Our original rental agreement with insurance with 3 weeks of rental was $1400US. The insurance alone was $1251US!!!!!!!!! I explained to the manager we could not afford this massive change in price so she discounted the insurance buy $100US. We were appalled at this bait and switch. They blamed it on VIP and said it was their fault. I have been coming to Cabo for 5 years and at least 3-4 times a year. I have never seen or have been part of this type of scam before and will never rent from ACE rental, MEX rental and VIP rental ever again. I also will post this so that other people that think that any of these companies are reputable will not be scammed either. Shame on you all and hope you go out of business.
