“They only do a basic fit not installation”

written by EveSimpson on 28/10/2021

I paid Wren over £12000 for a fully installed kitchen that was converting from a gas cooker to a electric hob and two electric ovens. The man at the showroom had said they could do the full installation and why I decided to use a good company so I could have peace of mind. What they don’t tell you is that the contract you sign has a clause that states they will only carry out a basic fitting as they use third party installers. Their head office staff are awful and totally based on what the contract states and not on what the showroom staff promise. My contracted installer could not do the work, so their head office took over and would only do a basic install, with no electric or gas work. If you use this company, make sure you are ready for this as I got told the contracted installer had pulled out a week before my kitchen was due to be installed. The person who called me said she had another customer who had also been given this bombshell only three days before their install, so I was quite lucky to get an earlier warning, so I could phone round and get somebody else to do all the electrical and gas work (as if that is a simple task must are so busy you have to book a month in advance and Wren will charge you if deliver is delayed £150 plus storage costs). The London office then got a London based company to do the dry install even though this is four hours away from me. I work with contractors professionally so it was funny as the poor contractor was at a loss as why they would use a London based company rather then a local company to do the work. Says a lot about the poor contractor management this company has. Most professional contract I consult use local contractors for a number of reasons. This is a poorly managed company and seems to have little regard for its customers and poor customer relations when things go wrong. I would steer clear and I will never use these again.
