General Comments
I purchased Tesco annual travel insurance in March 2008 and booked August 2008 for my daughters wedding in Mauritius for Sept 2009. In December 2008 we found out my dad had cancer. I have just come to renew my annual insurance with Tesco and have been told that if I have to cancel I will not be covered as this is a new policy, I would need to have booked and travelled before the insurance ran out. I would not recommend annual insurance as we are now not covered if my dad becomes really ill even though when I booked I was insured and did not know about my dads illness. If I had taken out just the 2 week insurance for the dates I was travelling it would have been cheaper and I would have been covered. Very misleading and very unfair. Be careful if you have annual insurance and the date you are travelling on any trips is after the insurance runs out. It means if you travel a lot you would keeping having to purchase a new annual insurance even though the one you have still has say 6 or 7 months to run. Crazy.
