“Misleading pricing”

Went to Asda in Hollingbury in Brighton & saw a nice saucepan set which had a price ticket in front of it saying £70 now £39 so went to till to pay with other shopping & saucepans came up at £65 so till operator call someone to go & check man went & checked he came back & left us in the queue & went to have a chat with 2 female colleagues while their was still a long queue & I had to try to get he’s attention to come back to till & he said oh yeah like he had forgotten us yeah it’s not them one’s it’s Different one’s so I pointed out to him that the price ticket was in front of them & their was more than one box. So I said well i’m Not going to pay for them at that price but will go & check myself so I did with man behind. I could see that the ticket had been moved slightly along but he denied it like I was lying I explained I have been in retail for a good number of years & if that had happened to one of our customers we would apologise & give them the price advertised as it was misleading but no all he kept saying was it’s the wrong item so I said show me the ticket for this one but of course no ticket so I said you expect an elderly person to get down to the low shelve & check the small print??? Then he told me not to raise my voice how bloody rude as I was just stating the facts I asked for the manager but at 1st he was too busy to come down well he was so up himself telling me that all about trade & stardards that I had no right to that price & that they were doing nothing wrong because I had not purchased them I said why would I pay £65 when they were advertised at £39 he really does need a good lesson in customer service as also said that the ticket was not in the place I said it was in my eyes that is calling the customer a lier all he said was we get this a lot we’ll mr Asda store manager get your shelves priced up properly you stupid man. Hence I win’t Be rushing back there & after reading a lot of reviews Asda you really need to do some training starting with the manager downwards in such situations that we are all faced with we can go elsewhere to treated with respect
