“Auto Dent.....”

One word: The contract said the car had1/2 tank of fuel. The car actually had 3/8. I called and after being chided that I should have told them in the parking lot, they finally said they would make a note and not charge me. When I arrived at my destination, I noticed the front passenger seat was quite stained, probably from a sea salt wet bathing suit. Then I noticed a sign on the dash that customers are responsible to pay for cleaning if car is dirty, sandy or seats are stained. I emailed customer service with a photo.Customer service via email apologizes and says it is inexcusable, then gives excuse that they have so many cars in service that they can't take time for neccessary cleaning and repairs, and suggests that I bring the car back right away so as to give a replacement. When I arrive, the guy behind the desk asks me why I brought it back, when all I had to do was call them and they would not have charged me. I explained that I didn't want to be using a car that was soiled. He then blamed: dirty, sloppy customers who didn't take care of the cars, then Covid 19 and the government for not allowing them to work and get the cars in shape and that millions of Portuguese are starving as a result, and next that 96% of their cars are being rented and they have no time to properly prepare them for the next customer. No apology and almost indignant and condescending that you would actually expect a clean car in such a situation. (This car was supposed to have been an upgrade from what I payed for). They exchanged it for the cheapest car on the lot with several pieces on the car being broken, two of which made for dangerous driving. When I returned the car at end of time the person in the returns (Andri H) acted in an arrogant manner. I don't think he was Portuguese as he didn't seem to act like one. All in all, I would say that they use poor quality, low priced cars and don't seem to care when things break or need cleaning or are dangerous to drive. They don't seem to be customer oriented. Maybe this is the type of people they attract with the payscale they offer? It was a very unpleasant experience and if I would go back in a month or 6 months, I would imagine it would be the same experience because I don't believe these reviews are for improvement purposes but rather just to let the cusomers vent their bad experiences. They need new management that at least are trained to pretend they care.
