“3rd Mattress in 6 months!!! I would not recommend.”

I purchased this mattress based on awards and reviews. When this mattress was purchased - delivered 20th January 2020 - I was provided with a 100 day trial.
Initially, the Emma Original was fantastically comfortable and the provision of handles made it easy to move.
Unfortunately, it developed dips at hip level in all four quadrants although it took me some time to realise what was wrong and understand why my back was so painful. These defects were eventually reported after 138 days of use. (By this time I was sleeping on the settee). The mattress was quickly replaced but the same type of defects became apparent in the replacement mattress after only 46 days of use!!! This was duly reported and another replacement was received within 2 days. We received our third mattress on 29th June.
Unfortunately, by my calculation, at this rate I will probably go through at least 40 Emma Mattresses during the course of the 10 year guarantee period because the company decline to offer a refund on the grounds that I had not complained within their 100 day return/refund policy.
I top/tail my mattress every month, neither myself or my husband are overweight and our previous memory foam mattress (Ergoflex- purchased 2006) was only changed because it became too heavy to manoeuvre. (Much to my regret!!!)
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE EMMA ORIGINAL MATTRESS and should I have any further problems, fully intend to report this case to the European Consumer Centre and, having paid by credit card, my bank. I have already reported it to Which.co.uk.
However, on a positive note, the customer services were very helpful and if I were able to rate them, I would give them 4/5 stars - deducting one star simply because one is totally reliant upon email correspondence.
