“Terrible Experience”

I do not normally write reviews, however, if it prevents anyone else from using this company it will be worth it. We pre-booked Goldcar at Malaga airport on the 18th July for a week as we could collect the car at the airport. We were issued a ticket & had to wait until our number came up before we could approach the collection desk. There were 25 people ahead of us but priority was given to people who had not pre-booked & were walk ups. We had to wait just over 2 hours before we got to see someone. Despite taking out full protection insurance at time of booking, the staff member forced us to pay another £135 or have £1500 held against our credit card before she would release the car. As we only had an American Express card on us (which they would not accept), we had to pay the £135. We were advised that the car was in a particular bay number only to find it wan't there. Advised by another member of staff it was in a different bay number. It wasn't there. We finally found it in a different bay all together. From arriving at the Goldcar desk to driving away in the car took nearly 3 hours!! We would not recommend using this company to anyone. Very poor customer service. People we spoke to at the airport said that the BBC had actually reported on Goldcars poor practices.
