In a word, abysmal. Having not been able to go on this holiday due to the Covid outbreak I'm still going through the ordeal of negotiating a refund with Sykes. Having requested and chased multiple times, finally threatening legal action, Sykes finally confirmed that the cottage owner was happy to refund all money he recieved, which was duly returned to me. By this time the customer service line had stopped accepting any calls from any customer. Furthermore, Sykes informed me that they would only offer the value of their commission and fees, over £200, in the form of a credit against a future booking. Needless to say I won't be using Sykes again as they are withholding commission for services not provided. Having told them this by email, they have now replied, contrary to the truth and their previous correspondence , that this money was not returned by the cottage owner and was withheld to cover reasonable expenses. Appauling behaviour. I hope you find this useful, and would advise any reader to avoid Sykes at all costs.
