I developed illness which prevented me from attending gym. I suspended membership for 6 months with the hope of improvement. Unfortunately I deteriorated and after 6 months and cancelled my Direct Debit, because I could not use the facilities. I attended the gym with evidence of appointments. The membership manager was on leave, but 2 Reception ladies viewed my appointments and said they'd pass on the details to the manager on his return. After 2 weeks I received a letter from him asking for my evidence. I phoned and told him of my visit. He said he'd speak to the ladies and get back to me. I never heard from him again, and was eventually contacted by a credit recovery service. I provided them with evidence, but they are not dropping the case and are bullying me. The ROKO membership manager says that it's not his problem anymore, once they hand over the case to the credit recovery service. So, a word of caution - do not join them with such a terrible take on illness. My GP has written a letter supporting me, but they are taking no notice.
