“AVOID THIS BROKER- FEES ARE EXTORTIONATE ”

I took out a policy using this broker on behalf of my 85 year old father. I have had to chase the brokers 3 times since they took his payment as we had not received any policy documents or information regarding the policy. Never had this problem before as other brokers provide all that information within a few moments of receiving payment. However, I was not unduly worried as I knew we had a 14 day cooling off period.
Today, after my 3rd reminder, we have now received an email confirming the insurance with all the documents attached. The documents from the insurance company state quite clearly that we will receive a FULL REFUND if the policy is cancelled within the cooling off period, subject to any admin charges imposed by the brokers. After reading the brokers “ Welcome letter” and attachments it is quite apparent that cancelling is not an option & we may as well write this whole experience off.  The “ admin fees” are £60 which is disgraceful when they have done very little work, except to cause my father to worry why he has no insurance documents. The policy was purchased via Quidco so all the policy information and premium comparisons were done by Quidco prior to us choosing to purchase from these people.
I think you can say we have been well and truly duped and please DO NOT USE these brokers for any insurance as they are not professional or honest.
