“falcon fn19 raptor light hunter”

Written on: 23/09/2011 by wezdavo (1 review written)

I have owned many airguns over the years and this has to be one of the best.
I bought it second hand for £250, mounted a simmons 4-12 x 50 a/o and fitted a quickfill adaptor from Uttings. After trying about ten brands of pellets i decided on air arms field 5.5, which group hole on hole at 30 yards. I have even hit 2 inch spinners at 75 yards from a rest with about 8 inchs holdover!!
The build quality is good, blueing is exceptional. The bolt action is smooth and presice. The trigger is ok, not as good as some rifles but does the job when lightened up.
Though the rifle is no longer produced since falcon were bought out, and the fn was replaced with the prairie. Parts are still available from falcon.
Seal kits are available on ebay for £14
The charge pressure is 185bar, which is good for 8 mags or 64 shots in 22.
The downsides are of course the plastic magazine though a alloy one is now available for £28 from falcon.
It seems to be picky on pellets.
Shot count is low compaired to modern pcps.
Overall a great rifle that shoots well.
