This labor day weekend we rented a car with Fox rent a car from Seattle Tacoma Airport location. Needless to say it started off as the cheapest rental price among all others and as we are based out of Seattle we thought how can a rental car company service could really make a difference. Certainly we were wrong.
The agent offerred us an upgrade for extra $120 bucks and we agreed with that. Due to traffic we returned around 1.5 hours later than scheduled and then the true colors of Fox Rent a Car showed up.
1.) They charged us $150 dollar extra which was one whole day + fine for returning later. Btw, this later was like 10pm instead of 8:30pm on Monday night when they were about to close so no one was really going to take the car.
2.) I was redirected to call the mgmt next day which I did and I could not find a more rude person who started off with "you signed the contract, you should had read it, it is your problem etc"
3) I called customer service to complain about the manager rudeness and potentially unfair treatment (coz I was never told that they were so strict as we would had otherwise cusioned our time by several hours) and in return the customer service folks never called back and decided to ignore as well.
I have rarely ever written negative reviews and this one really felt bad so thought it was worth sharing.
Moral of the story: Fox feels like in-expensive option but they have several loop holes to get you caught up and pay probably more than one of the better car rentals that you might have otherwise ignored.
