“Not convinced Wickes are committed to customer service”

I recently placed an order with Wickes for the first time. Their TV advertising is very convincing and the reviews they have against a lot of the products online are very positive - good quality at reasonable prices. My experience of Wickes is that they do have good quality products at reasonable prices, and I was also impressed with their next day delivery service (order before 6pm). I have read some of the other reviews on this site and apparently the service doesn't always work, but it did with me.

However, what I wasn't so impressed with was the courier company who delivered the goods. I live on the second floor of a block of flats and deliveries are normally brought to my front door. In this instance, the delivery man said I had to come down to sign. I had ordered three items, all of which were quite heavy. I could understand why he wasn't too keen to get the items upstairs (for one of them, I had to get two friends to bring it up). However, I think that if you are going to deliver heavy items to people living in flats, two people should be doing the deliveries so that they can be brought upstairs. I was also not encouraged to check my products before signing for them. Overall, I feel the courier company are letting down Wickes' customer service.
