“Vax U89-MAF2-R Air Force 2 Reach .. A Cracking Cleaner !!”

written by Cerise100 on 29/08/2011

Easily assembled in a few minutes once un-boxed with simply explained instructions, the first noticeable thing is the weight, it is quite heavy when lifted, much more so than my old Vax cleaner. It’s also a little on the noisy side but again not as noisy as my old Vax at least I can hear the phone/doorbell when using this cleaner something unheard of with the old one and I have yet to come across a vacuum cleaner that isn’t noisy.

The Good Points Are:

Handle can be adjusted to suit your height, meaning less back strain.

The flex is long enough for me to vacuum the lounge, hallway and kitchen without having to plug into each room separately.

The machine is stable when placed at the bottom of the stairs; it doesn’t show any signs of leaning or tipping when the hose is stretched up them.

Extension handle and tools are easily fitted to the hose and the Turbo Tool is excellent for getting under heavy bulky pieces of furniture that are difficult to move.

Beater Bar and On/Off switches are situated at base of handle for ease of use.

Beater Bar automatically stops when the machine is in the fully upright position.

Although a little on the heavy side the machine is very easy to manoeuvre around the floor and furniture.

The suction is excellent, even sewing threads, lint and hairs are easily lifted from both hard and carpeted floors and no suction is lost as the dust container fills.

The dust container is simple to detach and empty and of course there is no cardboard type filter to carefully clean or replace every 12 months.

The Hepa Filter also effectively prevents particles of dust and nasty odours being released back into the air.

The Not So Good Points Are:

When the handle is attached to the hose for use with the tools the catch does have a tendency to come undone especially if care isn’t taken when the hose is stretched on the stairs.

The hose is very rigid and takes some pulling to stretch it all the way up the stairs, which could account for the catch coming undone.

Because the flex is extra long it does tend to fall off the storage hooks if care is not taken when winding it.

In all honesty I am highly delighted with this vacuum cleaner and would recommend it for it’s durability and performance which I cannot fault, it also offers excellent value for money and is an extremely sturdy machine, like all products it has its Good and Not So Good Points but as far as I am personally concerned the Good far outweigh the minor Not So Good!!!
