“Don't bother paying for pet insurance with M&S”

Last December we switched our pet insurance to M&S because of the attractive offers they have on their website.
During July this year our vets decided that our dog who needed an operation to remove a tumour that had grown to the size of a golf ball. Although there was a small growth last year the vets advised that they wouldn't operate then as it would require a general anaesthetic and the growth wasn't big enough to warrant an operation.
Once the benign tumour had grown to become uncomfortable we were medically advised to have the operation and it was successful, but M&S Pet Insurance deemed that as the tumour began before the insurance policy began they wouldn't pay out.
As ever insurance companies will always find the smallest of loop holes to avoid paying but they are more than happy to take your money which amounts annually to several hundreds of pounds.
Best advice is to bank the premiums yourself to save up for any future costs as that is what we'll be doing rather than lining the pockets of these charlatans.
