Enterprise advertise 'no hidden costs'. In fact there is a £1000 excess for even the most minor damage and this is multiplied for each damage , so three 'dings' equals £3000. Their damage waiver insurance is pretty much as expensive as the hire cost itself but still leaves an excess to pay. The agent 'noticed' a small screw in a tyre, which may even have been there when we picked up the vehicle if it was in the tyre in contact with the ground. There is no puncture, so a tyre repair would cost no more than £50 and yet they have taken £300 from our account.
It seems that finding small problems, creating a need for repair at huge expense is a money-making scheme for Enterprise - just read the articles by The Telegraph and Which.
