“The worst EVER”

written by on 04/07/2011

I used 8 Hour Cream Skin Protectant on my face as I had been in the sun and my face felt dry and itchy . I read that it could be applied as often as required .
After two applications my face began to itch so I tried to wash it off . After two hours my face went bright red and started to swell . Large blisters appeared under and over my eyes and all over my chin. After 6 hours large "bubbles " of fluid built up in the corners of my eyes . I could barely open my eyes at all . I contacted my doctor who advised a mild cortisone salve and antihisamine tablets. I duly did as I was advised and was horrified to see that over night things got alot worse . I had to put on the biggest pair of sun glasses I could find and go to the E.R .
I have been diagnosed with Angio-oedema resulting from an extreme allergic reaction to the face cream. I have been treated with a huge Cortisone injection in my rump . These injections hurt but are effective, as the swelling started to recede after 2 hours. It will take several days for it to go down and I have to stay out of the sun . I live in Norway where sun is a rare commodity so its a real pain . My advice to any one that is tempted to buy this is STAY AWAY FROM IT Anything that can cause such a violent reaction CANT be good for your skin !!!!! Elisabeth Arden should compensate people for the pain this product causes and not least withdraw it .
