I am currently going through a home insurance claim for excess of water as we had a flood from our toilet. I pay £46 a month (so not cheap) and I have had to pay £500 excess.
Part of my bathroom floor was damaged and some of the wall tiles damaged on one wall when Polygon(the dry out company) removed my floor ties.
Ageas are saying that they will only replace half my floor and the one wall in my bathroom which means I have to fork out for all the rest! How can you replace just half a floor or only one wall. I will have all odd tiles. Also the wall tiles were not damaged until polygon pulled the floor tiles up (i no this couldn't have been helped but it isn't my fault!) Also a few cupboards in my kitchen were damaged and you cannot get the range no more. They are telling me they will only replace the damaged cupboards to as near as they can get to matching my kitchen, so they are expecting me to have odd kitchen units. No surveyor has been out they just sent the property manager of the building company to look at repairs! What am I actually paying my insurance for!
