“Just a series of articles written for the Times,...”

written by degbert on 24/03/2006

Good Points
Quite funny in places, good turn of phrase; blows a raspberry at political correctness

Bad Points
Well, Clarkson is mr. middle england intolerant and can get a bit too caustic sometimes, but I think that's the point, right?

General Comments
Just a series of articles written for the Times, packaged up as a book; some very witty asides and a lot of non-correct observations about all aspects of public life. Quite a journey for a bloke who confesses to knowing a bit about cars and not much else, but he's obviously talking to and on behalf of a generation of anglo saxon males just like him. I have to say the rather arrogant righteousness, while funny at first, wears a little thin. That's probably why the Times only ever gave him one column a week back then. You might consider this before you try to read too much of it in one go. Quite amusing nonetheless.
