HI there everyone... been a while since I wrote a review on something I bought.. I love my gadgets and yet I respect that not many know how to fully use them.... I owned a Motorola Razor V3i for some 5 years and decided I would like to get into the Smart phone technology, and after some much read reviews and research I decided on the HTC desire HD.. and boy .. I was not dissapointed.. What a tremendous phone and all it has to offer.. Of course at this level, there were only two to choose from... this and the iPhone... there was no contest for me especially at the price I got it.. £350.. I am Pay as you Go as I do not use the actual phone very often, but the other features attracted me to keep in touch with friends and the user friendly interface was a doddle.

Everything about this phone oozes quality.. and as much as it pains me.. the other reviewer was completly right in saying, the battery compartment was a nightmare to remove without careful prising.. luckily.. it's not something you should ever have to do once fitted..

As to the battery... this seems to be a major topic on most forums.. let me clarify any fears one might have about battery life... Unless your one of those people who spend hours playing games or surfing ALL day.. this issue should not pose a problem.. and even then.. you can expect to charge every night... but always remember... this is supposed to be a phone first and foremost... not a play thing.. When I first recieved my phone I used it until it needed charging.. this was setting up and getting a feel for the phone itself... this took me a good 8 hours and that was straight out the box... After a re-charge.. I switched on and did some more settings and playing around downloading what i wanted from the app centre.. set up accounts and tried several emails and texts plus some games and numerous Sat nav experimental routes... and the battewry was still going even though it was in the orange... but this to me was a severe test to the so called batteries short life...???.. I was slowly loosing faith in what all the other reviewers had to say about it... All I can say is this... either they have NoT charged the battery correct from new or they have the large beautiful screen on ALL day... then what do they expect... I have run several tests.. one being the actual standby time for the phone... and it's not far off... I was not tempted to use the phone itself other then a phone in standby and it was left on ALL week and it still did not need charging.. And I have also used the phone to it's fullest use... Surfing.. Downloading.. Sat nav destinations... Emails and Texts and playing some games for an hour or so.. and it still went 2 days without a charge... I DID set the phone up initially and shut down unnecessary apps and tones, such as the vibrate on touch.. but apart from that.. I let the phone do it's own thing..SO.. whatever these people are doing to justify slagging this remarkable phone off and it's battery life is beyond me... Well not the phone itself but the battery.

In conclusion... I was not going to go into detail about what this phone can do... you should already know this... and if you don't... don't even consider buying one... or an iPhone... but it's not called the iPhone killer for nothing... get one in your hands and give it a try... you WON'T be dissapointed.. it's super fast on Wi-Fi.. the camera and video in HD is outstanding (for a phone)it's a breeze to use and streaming from the internet sublime.. and the Sat Nav never missed a beat for me.. For me.. it's a Micro Laptop and you shouldn't need anything else to keep in touch and have fun with.. It brings a smile to my face everytime I use it..OH.. AND don't believe everything to read about the battery life.. For the phone it is, and what it does, it superb..??.. If you can get one for around £350.. get it.. but if you can have it free on contact.. even better..!!!!..Enjoy.!!!
