“Quingo Air 2 stability”

written by on 27/11/2018

I purchased my Quingo Air 2 (secondhand) after having tried 7 other different types of folding scooters. Quingo won on the grounds of its stability and ability to overcome the uneven and damaged pavements in my local area without throwing me off or toppling over, also it could take my weight and I can walk at a trotting pace 2 of my large dogs who, as they are hounds, have the tendancy to want to chase anything that moves (like the local cat) but the Quingo with its automatic brakes and 5 wheels holds firm when my hounds try to chase things...
My only grumble is that it really needs a more powerful motor as the 12v 15amp pair of batteries struggle and fade very quickly when trying to cope with me a large person and cold weather, thank goodness for the dogs they made great "huskies" for the last lap up the slope home. Having the ability to put the extra battery box on with the 2 back up batteries does help BUT does not solve the fading slowness of the motor now having an extra 20lbs + of weight to propell along, afterall Quingo DO SAY that it can cope with a 21 stone person, I am not quite that heavy but it struggled with 16stone.
I had reason to contact Quingo directly and found them very helpful and they were able to provide me with the spare part that I needed and gave me some helpful general advise..
Overall the Quingo Air 2 is a good folding scooter but is under powered for the weight it is listed of being capable of carrying... needs more oomph!
