I was due to attend a wedding in Canterbury on the 12th October. I live on the Welsh borders and a storm started up on the previous weekend causing flooding, high winds etc. etc. and I made the decision not to travel to Canterbury on the 11th October as many trains had been cancelled, and I needed to be able to get back home on the 13th. For all of these reasons, exceptionally bad weather aka Storm Callum (I think) I decided not to go to the wedding. Unfortunately I had already retrieved my tickets - bad move! I looked on the website to see how I get a refund and as with most others on here wanting refund, I did the same. I sent the original email with my booking number and stapled my tickets to the email to ensure everything remained together.
They received my letter on the 12th and I had the tracking number. It was signed by someone. Ten days later, I still had not received my refund, so wrote to them. They keep telling me there are issues. Would I provide the tracking number for them. So I did. I was informed I would receive my refund by the 26th October. Still no refund - and that is today. They once again tell me there are issues and they will investigate, and tell me to have a good day.
The tickets cost me just over £68, I spent £3.50 or thereabouts returning them by signed for, and after the deduction of their administration fee, I will be out of pocket by £13.50 but I should receive a refund of £58.
I am taking this to the small claims court if they don't refund me and shall report them to National Rail who allow them so many seats, and I shall report them to as many appropriate authorities as I can find.
