“Amazing Experience - would love to go again”

I spent a month in Peru with the archaeology project and it was absolutely incredible. After a particularly awful 18 hour flight, my host family were very welcoming and kind. I immediately felt at home. I would definitely recommend this trip for anyone, especially students on their gap year, who's looking for a volunteering experience where no two days are the same and everyone on the team is genuinely looking out for your wellbeing.
At first I was apprehensive about going by myself to a country I'd never been but I quickly learned more about the culture, and I also found it quite easy to build on my Spanish skills. Also, I could always be confident that the food the host family gave me would be delicious.
One thing I would have liked to know before I booked with Projects Abroad is just a little more information about what I would actually be doing on my project. Overall an amazing experience!
