General Comments
I have been a developer in the IT business for 15 years and I have been using OneandOne for two years. I think OneandOne is good value for money, and have had a good service experience. I lost FTP access twice, but this was fixed Immediately and they called me back to check everything was OK.
I compare this to a project I had hosted by another major blue chip company who charge about £5,000 a year for shared hosting and my database was down for 6 DAYS! No Contest.
I also had a billing problem with a credit card expiry date, OneandOne kept my service going even after the billing date. As I was on holiday when the old card expired. I phoned up and changed cards a week later, it was not a problem.
I have read the other reviews, and they would have put me off using OneandOne which would have been a pity. In all the years of using different hosting companies, and I have used some companies that have turned out to be total cowboys, OneandOne is the best so far.
My professional position would be to get a small site and try it out before putting mission critical stuff with a third party. I would recommended moving a test system to OneandOne for 6 months and then evaluate moving the mission critical system.
The only thing I would say is that OneandOne don't offer SLAs (service level agreements), this is something they might like to do. Hence 9/10.
