“Reassuring to see a friendly face”

The journey from Naples to Ravello was hair-raising with a gruff driver who travelled at a remarkably crazily close distance from any vehicle which dared to come within a meter of the him. On the kinds of raids with so many blind bends we were driven on, this was most uncomfortable; i was so relieved to reach Ravello in one piece! The return journey could not have been more different. Even though this journey had a deadline to meet at the airport, the driver was calm, never drove unreasonably fast and despite having to make a significant detour by the port, he was always reassuringly in control and calm. We arrived on time and yet I felt I could have driven the length if Italy with this excellent driver in his immaculate car.
