We stayed at Crosslands cottage which is in the very small village of Llanrhidian on the Gower.

As ever with Wales, the weather was 'challenging' (rain rain and more rain!)

The cottage overall was very good. The kitchen was well equipped (although no microwave which was a bit frustrating with warming the toddlers milk up!) and the lounge was cosy and quant with an exellent TV and Sky (with all the channels you'd want for those rainy evenings!).

Upstairs the bedrooms were small (which is in keeping of a cottage). We only used 2 of the bedrooms which was probably a good thing, as the middle room just had thin slats of wood between it and the master bedroom, with gaps between the wood so you can see in between the rooms. Not an issue for us, but if you were using this room for the kids (its set up as a kids room) you'd probably wake them up going to bed!

Overall though it was a realy good cottage. It was pretty private (although it is semi-detached, something we hadn't realised, we thought it was detached).

The gardens are great - a really good little play around for kids, and a larger stretch of lawn too. Also, there's a stable to put your horse, if you just happen to bring one!

There's nothing really around the cottage apart from fields with an assortment of cows, horses and sheep.

The village has 2 pubs a petrol station (with an excellent shop for essential supplies).

It's a 20 minute drive to the nice beaches of the Gower - ideally you'd be walking distance but there are some great walks along the marshland (check out the wild ponies too).

Id definitely recommend this cottage. Although its 3 bedrooms Id say you wouldn't want to be going with another couple, its probably best for 3-4 people, with 1-2 of them being kids.

The owners are very helpful and Id definitely give them 5 out of 5.

Definitely worth a visit if you're thinking of going to this area.
