Phone fits well in the hands and feels almost unnoticeable in jeans pocket (and mine are quite tight!). Call quality is very good as is signal reception, but the speaker used for hands free and listening to music etc. is absolutely terrible. It sounds really tinny and distorts a lot. Physical buttons at base are very useful. Good camera but lets itself down in low light conditions which produce more grainy pictures. The LED flash is probably as bad as it is on all phones, but when used against light absorbing objects it fairs reasonably well. The video is clear but the sound quality that goes along with it is just ok. The battery life is pretty bad I must say and you will need to charge every evening. However, there are some high capacity batteries that you could purchase. When shooting video or taking a picture whilst holding the phone horizontally it is very easy to get your fingers in the way of shots, as the lens is quite close to the edge of the case, but you will eventually get used to this and accommodate accordingly. It is a very fast and responsive phone and although in my opinion you cannot beat a real hard keyboard, the touch keyboard on this is really very impressive and the auto-correction is very good. It is a tough phone and has survived many drops onto concrete etc. without any damage. There are many apps available and HTC seem to be quite quick to provide software updates for improvements and bug fixes. However, I did find the responses from HTC support to be a little bland and blunt. The software to sync the phone to PC although rather simplistic, does a good job.
Overall a very good phone which could be greatly improved by the addition of a Xenon flash as well as an LED one (no one has done that yet), a dedicated camera shutter button and most importantly a much, much better speaker for hands free and media playback.
