Hired a car in Alicante in August. Got hasssled when collecting the car to take extra insurance and when I decided not to , as I had an alternative, Mrs Grumpy just mumbled at me about how if anything happens I will have to pay. Before returning the car I washed and hoovered it as I have been charged before for an unclean car and confidently took it back. Upon arrival a member of centauro staff took his torch and started checking the car. He was clearly looking at one area and I could not see why, he eventually called his supervisor over and they started a conversation in Spanish, he pointed at the car and then started to shine his torch. It took some time but he eventually showed her waht he though was damage. Ths was an extrememly minor mark, looked like a branch had brushed against the car. He then tuened to me and advused me that I will be charge 225 euros for this. I could not believe it, polish and a rag would remove this no problem. He was not interested and asked me to tap on his phone that I did not agree but payment will be taken anyway. If you ask me, this is their plan to force people to take out their incurance that covers excess. I have sent a complaint to them and had no answer. I will NEVER use them again
