General Comments
If you are looking for a 4 star hotel with an excellent price/quality ration go for the Hotel Villa Romana. It is a clean, well kept basic solid 4 star hotel.

The quality of the offered food is good, the rooms are nice and clean, and all facilities are there.

If you look for a fancy and luxury hotel, maybe you need to be prepared to look else where but pay a lot more (my last three hotel experiences where 5 star or 4star deluxe hotels which offered more luxury but where also at least double in price, these prior experiences may affect this review that's why I think you need to read this baring this in mind)



During my stay, I found this hotel to serve an excellent divers breakfast (pancakes, all the typical eggs sausages, beans, tomatoes, bacon,... , Spanish omelettes at the show cooking stand, fruits, cereal, the works. Diner and lunch are also good, but lack a little diversity. You have a lot of things (2 fish and 2 meats prepared at slow cook. chicken, beef and fish at the buffet, always pasta and rice dish) to choose from but it all looks the same after three days. A menu of the dishes could help, but every day everything is labelled as chicken, beef and fish, which increases the idea that diversity is lacking. Beverages at the restaurant are very cheap (bottle of wines starting from 6 euro for which you get a good local wine). You can have swimming pool towels from the hotel (20 euro deposit) which I think is a good service. The chairs next to the swimming pool are good, but are set very close to each other. The swimming pool is big and clean. Air mattresses and balls are all allowed, which is fun for kids. For kids in general the hotel offers a good deal, they can play in the swimming pool, and there are always fries and extra little buffet with special kid's meals (fried chicken, hamburgers, mashed potatoes,)

During my stay I found the animation rather limited (only 4 activities a day (rifle shooting bow and arrow shooting, water polo and volleyball), and the animators not really the active fun people I had experienced earlier in different hotels. People that had visited this hotel in July, found animation to be wonderful (especially the child animation), so maybe this was due to the timing of our vacation. I cannot be sure about this.

The rooms are big, AC works very good, rooms are well kept. Empty fridge is freely available; there is a rack on the balcony to dry towels or clothes which I also found useful. The sound isolation is not very good, but as this is a family hotel rather than a party teenager's hotel, this is not very disturbing in my opinion.



The location of the hotel I think is excellent, no outside noise from the streets and yet within a five minute walk of the shops and bar area. other four star hotels in the vicinity if you want to choose from different evening shows to watch.



So I hope this review is useful to you.

On a personal note: If you stay in this hotel during the next weeks, if you walk down the street to the belvedere hotel, at the end of the street there now two little stray kittens sisters (it used to be three, but the day we left one of them got killed by a car), please be nice to them a give them some love from me and my wife as we were devastated when the we saw the third one die on the street after being run over and are still sad for the ones that are left behind.
