For what the Plamp is (essential a tube constructed of cheap moulded plastic segments with a cheap plastic clamp at each end) this product should be £10 at a stretch.

I bought it to do close-up macro photography and I have found the neck to be so stiff and prone to friction that it is almost impossible to make positional adjustments of less than an inch or so without several attempts. It is also prone to vibrating endlessly. Even when used indoors I find I have to steady it with my hand as best as possible and wait for the micro vibrations to end after letting go.
