“stunk of cigarettes”

the car stunk of cigarettes. At first we hoped it was just the last person sitting in it. Once we hit the road we realised this car had the smell embedded in it. We are non smokers so it was vile. We had our 8 year old daughter in the car who had to endure this as well.
We have rented with Europcar before and since so hope this is a one off. We were given a feeble $5 discount which was not enough compensation though.
