I chose Anglian Windows for their reputation for quality. This, however, is not my experience.
1. Inadequate Communication/Late for Appointment.
I was told to expect the installers at 9-10am last Friday when my appointment was arranged. There was no confirmation text or phone call. When I phoned up I was told they were on a job and would be with me at 12. Having cleared the morning and now cancelled a lunchtime meeting, they turned up at 1.30pm and were not told that I was first.
2. Grossly negligent installation (I believe). I believe my patio doors have been installed inside out ! There are screws accessible on the outside of the frame when it is closed.
3. Mess Left At The Property.
Due to the mix up with the timings, I rushed the lads at the end as I had to make tea and take my children to swimming lessons, causing them to leave the caulking messy and incomplete. There were 4 screws on the floor inside the house that my son found with his bare feet and we are still finding bits of plastic in the garden. I also felt forced to tick that the installation was OK and pay up when I did not have time to check the work.
4. Use of Inexperienced Staff
I do not want the boys getting in trouble. They were friendly and courteous and worked hard. However, they were boys, one with a few years experience. I expected (and paid extra for) a quality product and fitting. Young fitters should still be supervised by a much more experienced member of staff.
5. Failed complaints procedure.
I phoned up to ask for someone experienced to inspect and fix the door on Monday. It is now Thursday and I still have not been contacted back by the manager. I emailed the customer services department on Thursday. I still haven't received any contact (now Saturday).
