“Invalid insurance policy ”

We booked a rental through doyouspain. Website is very basic. But price was good for a pick up at Bilboa aiport. We were advised by doyouspain to take out an insurance policy (a one off payment) with lloyds - before we collected the car to avoid our credit card being debited 1400 euros/or the daily insurance charge of 23 euros a day. A link was provided in their email. We paid this & took the policy with us. When we arrived at gold* office we showed them the policy but it appears they we're not readily accepting this. Our credit card was then charged a further 240 pounds & advised it would be refunded minus 37euros admin fee. We trusted them. We returned the car and were advised the refund is done in the next 48hrs (when we are back in the uk). The Refund is significantly less - we are short of 147 pounds which is equivalent to the daily insurance charge of 23euros. We were doubled insured on the same vechicle. We never agree to this and tried several times to sort this out with gold* but it's proving impossible. It's now with our bank. The doyouspain websites is basic. Goldstar you can't complain or speak to anyone to resolve now we are in the uk. The sites advertise no hidden extras but there absolutely are. Hard to understand paperwork. It certainly mislead us.
