Ok here goes... Zeesweets is a 50% cashback site; as a marketing ploy nearly a month ago they offered visitors to the site one of "a million" freebies in the form of sweets, paypal cash and iPhones (yeah right!) if they handed over their personal details.

The site owner (Sohail) encouraged its forum members to post this offer on other forums which they duly did and well over 10,000 people signed up for the freebie. All good so far, they didn't even have to become a member of zeesweets, it was just done to market the site.

However, it has gone very badly wrong, seems a few people got some paypal cash and maybe one or two (perhaps even 100) got some sweets but what about the vast majority? NOTHING!

The Royal Mail strike was blamed at first, but I think that was just a timely smokescreen. The site owner seems to not care and indeed it is still possible to hand your details over to this site, they have not even pulled the sign up page.

What is even better is the site owner has handed in his resignation, now call me dim but he is the site owner so how does that work? Again, I think when the going gets tough Sohail goes underground as it is easier than answering lots off awkward questions! It is easy for him to pull the wool over the eyes of his young forumites but the rest of us, not so...

So what has happened to everyone's personal information? Perhaps we shopuld collectively contact the data protection commission (ICO)? or even Trading Standards as I personally think they never had iPhones or the 'millions' of other freebies to give away in the first place.

Bit of a shambles of a marketing campaign really, if you have been stung make sure you pass the word about zeesweets and its broken promises... take a look through their forum and you will soon learn of the conceit the owner has for anyone that does not tow the party line. Thankfully even some of the forum moderators are waking up to the fact the site and Sohail are not what it seems...

What is interesting is the site owner has also had any negative reviews pulled from reviewcentre and other review sites; why do this if you have nothing to hide??

A site to AVOID unless we get some answers to some fairly serious questions...
