Rented a car in Palma de Mallorca in April. They charged 74 euro for a tank of fuel in a fiesta !!! When looking at the contract they had 2 charges put on it. 1. Fuel ('60) and 2. Diesel ('14). When I asked why it was split I was told that because I took a diesel car I was charged an upgrade of '2 per day. So as Diesel is 7% cheaper than petrol I got screwed. Not only that I, they did not tell me when collecting the car that I was charged extra. I also had to return with an empty tank. How stupid is that rule. Any consumer group will tell you this is insane. I have forwarded my complaint to the relevent authorities in Brussels and Spain. Maybe if enough of us go down this route it may shake this company up.
