ARIVED ON 28TH OCT 2009 AT 13.50 AT MALAGA AIRPORT ,WAITED BEHIND ABOUT 70 DISMAYED PEOPLE , ANOTHER 45 BEHIND ME TO REACH GOLDCAR DESK TO COLLECT CAR , NO APOLOGIES FOR EXTREME DELAY( 3 HOURS) WAS TOLD WHEN I EVENTUALLY GOT SEEN THAT THERE WAS NO CAR AVAILABLE FOR ME , NO CHARGE TO UPGRADE TO WHAT LOOKED LIKE A WHITE VAN , AS I HAD ALREADY FULLY PAID IN FULL ONLINE FOR A VAUXHALL CORSA I REFUSED , WHITE VANS ARE NOT MY THING AND CERTAINLY WOULD NOT CHOOSE ONE FOR A HOLIDAY TRIP!I WAS THEN TOLD I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT , I SAID AS I HAD ALREADY WAITED NOW SOME 3 1/2 HOURS I WAS NOT INCLINED TO WAIT FURTHER , I DEMANDED A REFUND , AFTER A COUPLE OF VERY QUICK PHONE CALLS I WAS TOLD ONE APPARENTLY WAS AVAILABLE , I WAS THEN ASKED FOR ANOTHER £123.00 TO COVER FOR A TANK OF DIESEL AND FOR EXTRA INSURANCE TO COVER ME FOR FLAT TYRES , WINSCREEN ETC WHICH ALTHOUGH I WAS VERY ANNOYED AT I SEEMED TO HAVE NO CHOICE , ALSO BY NOW I WAS EXTREMLEY TIRED AND HAD A LONG DRIVE AHEAD OF ME TO INLAND CORDOBA!
AFTER SIGNING DOCUMENTS AND PAYING ( AGAIN) TOTAL COST NOW WAS £403.00, I PAID £287.00 FOR TWO WEEKS HIRE VIA CAR 3000 ONLINE IN UK , WAS INFORMED THAT LOCAL FEES MAY BE APPLICABLE BUT I WAS NOT EXPECTING ANOTHER 3RD ON TOP OF WHAT I HAD ALREADY PAID IN UK ONLINE!!
HOWEVER , JUST AS WELL I DID , ALBEIT RELUCTANTLY , AS I ASKED IF ANYONE WOULD CHECK CAR OVER WITH ME BEFORE I ACCEPTED IT , MAKE SURE ANY SMALL CHIPS ETC WERE NOTED AND NOT CHARGED TO ME ON RETURN , I WAS TOLD NO NEED AS I HAD PAID THE EXTRA AND THIS COVERED ALL DAMAGE , TYRES W/SCREEN ETC ETC.
WHERE CARS ARE COLLECTED ITS QUITE DIM LIGHT , ALSO NOW I AM VERY TIRED AND NEED TO GET GOING TO MAKE IT TO IZNAHAR AS NOW OVER 4 HOURS AFTER I HAD LANDED !!
COULD NOT USE RADIO AS ARIEL HAD BEEN REMOVED AS I DISCOVERED ON DRIVE OUT OF AIRPORT , TAKEN BEFORE I COLLECTED CAR , SO LONG SILENT DRIVE , NEXT MORNING MY HOST REMARKED THAT THE CAR HAD A LARGE DENT IN THE BOOT , ALSO A CHIPPED WINDSCREEN , VARIOUS DENTS AND SCRATCHES ALL ROUND , PARCEL SHELF WAS BROKEN AND WOULDNT REMAIN IN PLACE BUT FALL DOWN WHEN BOOT CLOSED, NO PROPER SCREEN WASH ,ONLY WATER WHICH DID NOT CLEAN SCREEN AS VERY DIRTY , HAD NOT BEEN CLEANED PROPERLY IF AT ALL EITHER INSIDE OR OUT WHICH MADE DRIVING DIFFICULT IN BRIGHT SUN AND HEAVY RAIN , I HAD BOTH TO CONTEND WITH ON MY DRIVE, ALSO SUN VISOR BROKEN SO I HAD FLAPPING INFRONT OF MY WHEN EVER I USED IT , IT ALSO FLAPPED ABOUT WHEN PUSHED BACK UP, CLIP BROKEN OFF !
I ALSO HAD TO PUMP ALL 4 TYRES TO CORRECT INFLATIONS , FRONT OFFSIDE WAS DANGEROUSLY BELOW WHAT IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN, ALL IN ALL A VERY DIRTY NOT WELL MAINTAINED VEHICLE FOR HIRE ESPECIALLY AT THE RIPOFF PRICE I WAS MADE TO PAY ON ARRIVAL.
I THEREFORE RESPECTFULLY SUGGEST THAT NO ONE INTENTIONALLY SHOULD HIRE FROM GOLDCAR AT MALAGA OR THEIR AGENTS WHO ACT UNDER VARIOUS NAMES SUCH AS CAR 3000 ETC ETC , I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN AND STRONGLY SUGGEST ANYONE READING THIS TAKES THIS SERIOUSLY . I AM BEING 100% HONEST IN THIS REVIEW .
I ORIGINALLY HIRED A CORSA , I ENDED UP WITH A SAD BEATEN UP OLD FIAT PUNTO , WHICH TO BE QUITE HONEST IS NOT WHAT I THOUGHT I HAD PAID FOR , CERTAINLY NOT THE WHITE VAN / POPE MOBILE OFFERED AT NO EXTRA CHARGE AS IF THEY WERE DOING ME A FAVOUR , YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !!! J V WHITE
