“Reviewing a Hauck Sport Buggy. ”

Reviewing a Hauck Sport Buggy.

We bought one of these earlier this year during an ASDA Baby Event for £25 - well times because our old pushuchair had broken. It was a mistake! I guess pushchairs aren't designed to last any more - we used one for our eldest, yet 5 years later we're now on our 5th pushchair for number 2. Granted, we do an awful lot of walking - in & out of town several times a week, plus school run for the eldest. Probably upwards of 20 miles a week.

It was extremely uncomfortable to push - the handle is too low and too far forwards. The brake lever also sticks out too far, so pushing downhill takes a rather strange angle to avoid putting the brake on as you walk. With the handle so far forward, its also difficult to tip backwards to go up kerbs. I found I was using my foot to hold the back of the basket to provide a pivot point. The seat part is too short as well.

But the worst bit was that we've had to take it back already (less than 3 months later) as the tyres on the wheels are made of foam that is not dense enough and distorts very quickly, to the point that the rear tyres come off.

Thankfully, there was a baby event on when we took it back, so were able to get a replacement. There have been a few design changes since the last version. The hand is now a little higher, which makes a big difference, and the brake lever is half an inch shorter. Small differences, but they make it much better. On this one, there's even a clip to hold the buggy folded, which was missing on the previous one, although the latch for the clip was there.

Positives are the nice big basket with plenty of access room.

I guess that you do get what you pay for. If we'd paid full price for this, we'd be EXTREMELY annoyed. Just about fit for purpose as an emergency pushchair, but don't bother as a main pushchair.
