Great And Reliable

My first review was done in a bad mood, since then this boiler has given 9 years of perfect operation, so no real complaints. This is just to put the record straight.

After Only 3years And 3months, The Only Moving Par

After only 3years and 3months, the only moving part to my knowledge failed, the fan (for the fan assisted flue). I contacted Customer Service and they only quoted the 12 month guarantee. I emailed five different Directors of sorts, and not one has so far bothered to reply, It has cost me £72 for a new fan and £60 to have it changed, making a total of £132. So if you are thinking of buying a new central heating boiler, have a good look round and if you still choose Ideal, be prepared to be forgotten when the guarantee runs out, and do not expect to get any more help. You bought it, it is out of guarantee, now get on with it, even though you paid best part of £1500 to have it installed in the first place.

Yes you are right, a hasty complaint to be fair, I still have the same boiler and nothing else has gone wrong in the following 9 years. So I would change my review to four stars. TBH I forgot all about this. LOL

Not quite sure what this reviewer is complaining about. A 12 month guarantee only lasts for, er, 12 months, not 39. Other than that, companies that make stuff do not generally do routine repairs and maintenance. Instead, you go to a local dealer/tradesman, who may or may not (your choice) have a special relationship with the maker.

Like with cars - when your BMW's fan belt breaks you go to the local dealer; you don't contact the directors in Munich.

BTW, the fan is not the only moving part.
