General Comments
Westmalle Tripel Belgium is a very complex Trappist beer (one of only six true Trappist monks' breweries) which is actually classified as a 'blonde' beer. Quite pale and light in colour is very deceiving compared to it's flavour. It is initially soft and creamy with a fruity taste but then the bitterness and alcohol level kicks in at 9.5% ABV. That's as much as some German wines! It is a great beer to accompany food though, especially fish. Drinking it on it's own is quite hard work and you may struggle after two. A beer that demands great respect. Nice to try though.
