“Royvon Dog training, Coventry.DISENGENOUS, POOR TRAINING”

written by on 28/05/2018

STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY, ONLY AFTER MONEY.

Due to our dog getting stressed and nervous when surrounded by lots of people and by noisy heavy traffic We booked him on to 3 week "Behaviour modification programme", at Royvon, Coventry.
Our decision was based on looking at videos that they posted of other dogs on the same programme, information on there site and further information and advice we were given by there staff when we made enquiries.
Prior to starting programme We paid £30.00 for a 45 minute assessment which only lasted for 20 min when the trainer left us and did not return, and at no time did she handle our dog.(No refund offered).
They informed us that they would start working with him within the first couple of days as this would help him to settle in, That the programme would include obedience training as per the videos they post on Facebook,That he would be given regular offsite visits/exposer to the his problem areas to build his confidence.
Both there site and staff advised us we would get regular video, email and telephone updates so that we could see his progress and how he was.

After a visit by ourselves, looking at pictures posted(NO VIDEOS) and information supplied by his trainer it was clear that he had not been exposed to his problem areas or even left the compound and due to trainers days of this situation continued for two weeks. The trainers justification for this was that he was still bonding with her and the other staff.

After emails and telephone discussions whereby we expressed our concerns and extreme disappointment Royvon promised as follows:

1.He would start to be taken out in the third week to experience the problem areas of heavy traffic and crowds of people, the place he was taken to was a small village not as busy as the roads he deals comfortably with on his walks at home, and not very often.

2.They said they would send us regular videos and emails to show his progress, we received ONE 1 minute video, and all contact had to be instigated by us.

3.We and other people we know of were told by there staff that the BM Programme included obedience training this was also confirmed by the videos they posted online, however there operations manager insisted obedience training was not part of the BM Programme, but she would arrange for a junior trainer to do extra work with our dog.
Someone is lying, I think its the latter.

4.During the handover in the village to show us training techniques "which it seemed amounts to throwing lots of treats on the floor" and what progress he had made the trainer did not even have any poo bags and I had to stand guard over our dogs excrement whilst she went to get one.
Again along with all other aspects VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.

To try to get a balanced view I received advice from two fully qualified IMDT independent trainers who expressed astonishment about the time used for so called bonding.
One of the trainers we arranged to visit with our dog, and not only had she bonded with him within a hour she actually started working with him and introduced him to a fairly busy road after 2 hours without him becoming stressed.

I made a formal complaint presented them with numerous facts and timelines and requested they provided a full explanation in respect of the amount of bonding time, training schedule, offsite visit`s none of which they would answer.

I have read various reviews and the responses from the chief executive of Royvon to numerous complaints are very dismissive.
He and his operations manager skirts around issues and will not answer peoples questions fully and like his operations manager he is very disingenuous.
I have read that People say he is only interested in the money and most certainly not concerned with providing a quality training programme.

Our own dispute is on going and All I can say at this stage is that I have had the same dismissive response to our complaint, even to the point whereby he is now saying that what ever correspondence I send he will treat it with disdain and give me the same non response to our questions.
He thinks he can just take peoples money, disregard complaints and treat people disrespectfully and that is the end of the matter, well I have not finished. KEEP AWAY FROM THIS SET UP and look deeper into review sites.
