General Comments
Words cannot express just how truly awful the Hoover Purepower is. My 1700w example was so riddled with faults that I cannot believe Hoover tested it further than operating the on-off switch.

Our first problem was with the bags (Hoover bags) that developed small splits in the wall, causing them to burst. These were being caused by the bag compartment that has small 'fins' moulded in to aid circulation. The vacuum force was so strong that they were piercing the bag. I therefore got out the gaffer tape and smoothed them over . This solved that problem but caused the force of the vacuum to concentrate its destructive efforts on the seam at the bottom of the bag. The bags were giving up after a few days of use and barely one-tenth full so I started to gaffer tape the seam to strengthen it. Even this remedy was insufficient and they burst again before being half-full.

The next problem encountered was with the clip on the exhaust filter door. It retains the flexible hose and snapped after a few months. Hoover provided a replacement . That snapped as well . Hoover refused to supply another which was just as well as that eradicated any semblance of brand loyalty that I had left. I was reduced to drilling the door and attaching a bolt that worked fine The flexible hose itself is nothing short of dangerous. If you use it to clean the stair treads with the hoover above you , the vacuum created in the hose causes it to snap short pulling the machine on top of you.

Persevered with it for about 2 years until thankfully it finally blew up. Did what I should have done in the first place and bought a Sebo instead.
