“Don't care once sold!”

written by on 16/04/2018

Bought a new caravan, collected 7th April, went away 14th April. Firstly, there was a decal that had been put on incorrectly, waiting for the replacement and for that to be sorted. Secondly, and most importantly, on our first outing (in Scotland for the weekend) we went out for an hour to come back and find water running out of the back of the caravan Hubby discovered that the push fitting to the tap in the bathroom was faulty. Phone call to Preston Caravans only to be told after sales only work weekdays, he held out to speak to someone in sales They duly phoned him back only to end up having to go to a local caravan dealer and buy the required parts in their accessory shop. 5 hours later hubby had fixed the leak! They said they would phone back on Monday morning first thing - think they work in a different time zone - he got a call mid afternoon. Apology after apology but nothing to assuage the upset suffered. End result - send in the receipts for parts purchased and £50 off it's first service. Oh they would arrange to pick the caravan up and pressure test it! Do they really think I would entrust that to their incompetent staff - not a chance in hell. So come the time for the first service they will not be the ones undertaking the service, I will find a dealer who is nearer and shows more awareness of customer service. There are plenty of dealers out there, had I known that their after sales service was so shocking they would not have had my business in the first place. Swift Caravans are sold by lots of dealers, just that at the time they had the best offer. Buyer beware, the initial deal may be great, but woe betide you if anything goes wrong.
