Weekend Wars is an unique psychedelic gem that all music appreciators and scholars should take ear to. It fuses styles of The Beatles in their prime and The Byrds with folky guitarwork like that of Band of Horses. The poetic lyrics of Andrew VanWyngarden yell out to artistic creativity in the entire album, and this song. The arrangements are just great. The reverb and phasing play perfect in the chorus and in the soft interludes that send you into a psychedelic vision. Reviving old psychedelic sounds into a new fresh 4:12 neo-psychedelia, this song is a bold step into the abyss of music.
