“This abstract single from Brooklyn based MGMT...”

Good Points
Thought provoking lyrics

Bad Points
It is completely dosjointed and inconsistant

General Comments
This abstract single from Brooklyn based MGMT (Columbia Records) sounds like a failed hybrid of The Beatles and Scissor Sisters.

Weekend Wars, from d but album Oracular Spectacular, shows that although the lyrics are thought provoking, the vocalist's voice is something to be desired. The music is mediocre at best and has an inconsistent flow. However the only highlight of the song, other than the end, were the occasional instrumental interludes.

But if you like disjointed songs that sound like a dismal attempt to cross two mismatched decades; this is the song for you.
